There was talk the revolving restaurant at the top of the BT Tower, which closed down in 1980, was going to reopen in 2012 in time for the Olympics. But now sadly and much to my disappointment there's talk that it's not going to happen. I was looking forward to going. The only way you can visit the tower is to go on a tour during Open House London Weekend. But there are limited places. I have applied the last two years but haven't been lucky enough to get a place.
BT have recently removed all of the redundant dishes from the platforms.

Barbican Centre
I went out today intending to sketch one of the Barbican tower blocks. It was a beautiful sunny day and they really look great in bright blue sky, but it was freezing and I couldn't find anywhere in the sun to do the sketch. Sat down in the sun in front of the Barbican Centre and did this instead.

Breakfast Sketch
And it’s the weekend again. Started it off with breakfast at ‘Look Mum No Hands’ cafe. It’s freezing outside, supposed to snow this afternoon.

Office Block
This building makes up part of the view from my flat. A modern glass and steel office block on London Wall. The lifts are in the jutting out bits with the yellow detail.

Centre Point
It's always busy around Centre Point. A continuous stream of shoppers coming and going from Oxford Street, people waiting for buses, ascending and descending in and out of Tottenham Court Tube station. Not many suitable spots to sit and sketch. I was very pleased, after hunting around for a while, to see an empty chair in the window of Starbucks across the road, and pleased again that it was still free once I'd got inside and bought a (weak) coffee. I don't really like Starbucks coffee but it was a perfect relaxed comfortable spot to do this sketch.

Store St Espresso
Great coffee at the Store Street Espresso and usually not too busy in the weekends. One of my favourite cafes.
